What a small world hu?
I am thankful for the Internet that can connect us, and allow me the opportunity to learn more about my future career.
For a lack of a better leeway to address this assignment, let's just get started:
- I will be working with Provo Peaks Elementary School. The surrounding neighborhood is actually my neighborhood. That's one of the main reasons why I picked this school. It is in walking distance for me, so I can work there whenever I've got some free-time on my hands. Provo Peaks is located just off of a roundabout on Center Street. Although the road may get busy during the climaxes of the school day, the neighborhood is pretty quiet for the most part. Quaint homes and portent complexes align the street and most kids who live nearby walk to school. In summary, I think Provo Peaks portrays the ideal school that I hope my kids can attend in due time.
- At the level where I am at in my Service Learning, I don't know very much about the students. Walking through the hallways I saw all kinds of ethnicities and ages around me. I was told to report back on Monday to fill out paperwork and finalize my placement. I trust that on Monday I will learn more about the students that I'll be working with.
- My understanding of service learning was harnessed not only while reading the guidelines of this assignment, but also through the experiences I've had thus far in school. Service learning is hands-on experience where I can learn most by doing my part, while serving the community and people I work with. My experience will benefit myself and everyone I surround myself with, as long as I do my best. Service learning is about my learning, and everyone'e benefit.
